BNYS Curriculum & Syllabus
Naturopathy and yoga is one of the Indian Systems of Medicine, under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. BNYS course duration is a 5 ½ year Medical program. Our college is affiliated to The TN Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai. Naturopathy is an Indian system of medicine which believes in the self-healing capacity of the human body. The course offers step by step knowledge in understanding the functioning of the human body and its mechanics. The core of the subjects lies in understanding the principles and philosophy of the Naturopathy.
This is a disciplined form of learning where the students will be taught the disciplinary way of leading a life. So, they can live healthy and also help the society to become healthier. Our students get an opportunity to learn from experts in the field, with all modern technologies. Students will be taken to field visits every year to various Naturopathy and other hospitals, Institutes for learning and up-gradation of their knowledge.

- Human Anatomy: Human anatomy is a scientific study of morphology of the adult human body. It includes both the gross human anatomy and histology.
- Physiology: Human Physiology is the study about the functions of the human body in detail which enables the student to understand the mechanism of the human body.
- Pathology: Pathology is a bridge between science and medicine. It is concerned with the study of disease, its nature and origin.
- Biochemistry: A study about the chemical processes in the human body. This helps the students to understand the chemical reactions happening in the body at the molecular level.
- Microbiology: A study about the micro-organisms and the human body’s response to these micro-organisms.
- Pharmacology: This branch of medical science deals with the study of the pharmacological drugs, its mechanism of action, uses and effects in the human body.
- Community Medicine: A branch of medical science which deals with the health of the members of a community, municipality or a region as a whole.
- Obstetrics and Gynecology: A branch of medicine which specializes in the care of female reproductive health, its diagnoses and treatments.
- Modern Diagnostics: This is a science which is concerned with the diagnosis of any diseased condition in the human body through various examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Traditional Diagnostic methods: Traditional science teaches various diagnostic methods without any modern technologies.
- Hospital Management: This provides sufficient skills and knowledge related to the management and administrative operations of health care system. It involves effective functioning of the hospital ensuring the proper use of all resources.
- Psychology: It is a scientific study of human mind and behavior that takes multiple perspectives.
- Forensic medicine: This is a branch of medicine where the application of medical knowledge or the pathological principles to administration of law, furthering of justice and the medico legal aspects of a death.
- Physiotherapy: This is the treatment method that focuses on the science of movement. It helps the people to restore, maintain and maximize the physical strength, function, movement and mechanics of the human body.
- Fasting: Fating is the basic therapy in the Naturopathy which aims at complete rejuvenation of the human body and also in removing the toxins.
- Chromotherapy & Magnetotherapy: Treatment modality in which the students can learn how to use different colours, magnets in treating different ailments of the human body.
- First Aid and Minor surgery: A very important part of medical science which deals with the immediate measures or the emergency care to be given when the patient is suffering from either minor or major illness or injury.
- Research Methodology: This is the specific procedures or technique of how a research is conducted. Research is very important aspect in the field of medicine, where every student should learn the methods as he begins the medical education journey.
- Nutrition and Dietetics: Science of food and nutrition and how to use this to improve a person’s health.
- Manipulative therapy: This is the therapeutic study about different techniques where physical movements or manipulations are used to treat a disease.
- Yoga: In BNYS students will learn the complete philosophy and the physiology of the yogic science through the practical and theoretical sessions.
- Acupuncture: Acupuncture is the system of medicine in Naturopathy which uses fine needles in specific location of the body to treat the illness.
- Hydrotherapy: This is the therapy which uses of water in different modes and temperatures both internally and externally to treat any disease.
