Dear Students & Parent’s,
To confirm your seat in Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga, you can deposit an advance amount of Rs.25,000/- and reserve your seat, which is repayable or deductible with your fee when you are continuing in Management/Government seat. If you are changing the college for any unavoidable reasons, the fee paid will not be will refunded!
Applications are accepted both online and offline. Applications can be downloaded from our website from the link below and submitted in our Admission office, Sona College of Technology Campus.

Yes, the course is completely residential. The student should be experiencing the complete culture and science of Naturopathy right from the beginning in terms of yoga practice, food regimen and the Naturopathy culture of treating patients.

BNYS
Yes, both Naturopathy and Yoga is combined subject in B.N.Y.S. course.
Yes it is. It is one of the AYUSH systems. In Tamilnadu the BNYS course is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and after the completion of the course they can practice the system of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences as Class “A” Medical practitioner.
This is the only system where the treatment methods include natural treatment modalities using the five great elements of nature and no processed drugs are given, which can be availed by any age without any side effects.
The course is 5 ½ years course, which is divided as 4 ½ years of medical college education and 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship in various hospitals.
Yes, qualified Naturopathy Doctors, who studied under regular educational programmed provided by Naturopathy Colleges are Registered in State Medical Boards. They are licensed under state AYUSH councils to treat patients.

Yes, there are a lot of scopes for BNYS doctors overseas. Jobs are also available in Cruises. In some countries the graduates may have to clear the qualifying examination of that particular country.
Yes. The Banks provide Education Loans to students for BNYS. All the Documents required for the purpose as requested by the Banks will be provided to the students from college office.
The curriculum of the BNYS is designed as that the student would be able to understand all the modern concepts along with naturopathy. All basic medical sciences subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Modern diagnostic methods etc. are included in the BNYS syllabus, which ensures that students understands the complete bio mechanics of the human body. Along with this the syllabus includes Naturopathy and Yoga which will help them to understand about the disease and the root cause. This will help them to treat any patients effectively.

At the same time each practicing Naturopath can create a unique pattern that is completely customized to have their profession established without fear towards the competitors. After completion of BNYS one can pursue MD from recognized university in the branches of Naturopathy, Yoga and Acupuncture. Or can go for Masters in Public Health, Anatomy, Physiology, Neurosciences and Psychology. Research interested graduates can pursue their Phd Programme in Yoga.

• The Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) New Delhi is an autonomous body under Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It is an apex body in the field of Yoga and Naturopathy, actively engaged in promotion, propagation, research, education, training and publication work.
• National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune It is an autonomous body under the Dept. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and Government of India. With 100% financial aid from the Central Government. This organization is governed by a governing body, headed by Union Minister for Health & F.W., as its President.

Yes, Naturopaths can treat the conditions including both acute concerns and chronic health conditions.
No, Naturopathy Doctors are not opposed to invasive or suppressive measures when they are deemed necessary. Naturopaths also make referrals to such treatments when appropriate.

Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a drugless system of medicine which applies natural modalities like sunlight, water, mud, air, diet, herbs etc., to treat various ailments of the human body. Naturopathy is a very ancient science whose reference can be found in Vedas and other ancient texts. It treats the whole body focusing on removing the root cause and not just the symptoms.
Naturopathic practice may include a broad array of different modalities, including manual therapy, hydrotherapy, herbal items, acupuncture, counselling, iridology, aromatherapy, nutritional counselling and so on.
Yes. Every year innumerable research studies, both scientific and clinical, are conducted by hundreds of Universities, Colleges, Laboratories and various Organizations. With the growing demand, Naturopathic Doctors meet high standards of practice based on sound scientific studies.
As for safety concerns, since it focuses on using substance those are natural, gentle, non-toxic, and non-invasive, adverse side effects are rare. Its only in the hands of “FAKE” untrained practitioners, the therapies might lead to certain harmful side-effects.
Any treatment modality which uses the natural elements (Fire, Water, Space, Air and Earth) in nature for treating diseases and maintaining the health are considered to be the therapies in Naturopathy. A graduate who has successfully completed B.N.Y.S. Course from a Recognized University / Medical Board is only considered as a Naturopathy doctor.
BNYS is the only UGC recognized course, where after successful course completion you will be entitled as Class A Medical practitioner by the Govt.
Yoga
Who is a Yoga Doctor / Yoga Physician?
A student who has successfully completed BNYS course from a recognized university/Medical board can become a Yoga physician.
Is Yoga just stretching/ exercise?
Yoga and stretching cannot be compared to each other. Yoga is science and art of living healthy and happy. It provides the state of harmony between stretching and relaxation brought without any efforts, which tranquilizes the mind and stabilizes the body.
How does Yoga help students to perform better?
Students, young blossoming buds require a mental clarity, concentration, good memory along with sound health which can be obtained only by the balanced physical, mental and emotional growth. Yoga helps students perform better by providing all this.
Is Yoga all about just making different postures?
No, Yoga is a complete science which offers various tools to attain balance in health. Postures are a part of it. It includes Pranayama, Mudras, Bandhas, Kriya, Yama, Niyama, Dharana, Dhyana and attaining higher level of consciousness. The techniques can be personalized for teaching certain postures/ pranayama even to a handicapped person.
There are many other yoga courses, why should I select BNYS?
BNYS is the only medical course, where a student can learn the therapeutical aspect of the yoga and are eligible to practice as a medical practitioner.
What is the difference between other Yoga courses and BNYS?
BNYS graduate is different from yoga teachers as he/she has most detailed training of human Anatomy-Physiology and other Medical subjects. A Yoga doctor (B.N.Y.S.) is more academically equipped to deal with the complex diseases, modern diagnostic methods, treatments and referral system. Hence, it is correct to assume that a B.N.Y.S. graduate will be able to handled patients (practitioners) in a safe and scientific way.

Do you provide campus placements after BNYS?
Yes, Sona aims at providing campus placements for all the successful students of the college.
Is there a Naturopathy Yoga Hospital inside the campus?
Yes. There is a well-equipped 100 bedded In-Patient hospital. Students will also be posted in various other hospitals to get exposure in the all modern technologies along with Naturopathy and Yoga treatments.
Is education loan available for BNYS?
Yes. Banks provide educational loans to the BNYS students. At Sona we assist the students in the process.
Hostel
Will I get hostel allotment at the time of admission?
Yes. You must apply separately along with the college admission for hostel.
What necessary items must a student bring to the hostel?
Their own utilities for daily living, toiletries, locks and other essential items must be bought. Valuables are preferably not recommended. Students are solely responsible for their belongings. Music systems and other electronic gadgets are not allowed, except laptops and mobile phones. Laptops are a part of education in Sona.
What type of food available in Sona hostel?
Only Pure vegetarian and naturopathic food will be available in our campus. It is a pure vegetarian campus.
Can I cook my own food inside the room?
No. Cooking is not permitted in hostel
What is the outing timing?
Everyday students must be inside the hostel before 8pm. Students are not allowed to go outside the college campus without proper permission letter obtained from warden and principal.
Am I allowed to stay outside the hostel for one night?
This can be done with the written permission obtained from the warden. Written permission must be obtained from parents duly signed and the same must be attached while getting permission from warden. Else no students are allowed to stay outside.

What is scope of practice / placement after B.N.Y.S?
Naturopathy doctors have global scopes.
How will be the internship program scheduled?
One year of a rotatory internship with stipend and accommodation will be planned by the Institution and allocated to the students. Great care is taken in choosing the places for internship with concern towards the safety, exposure, skills training that a student will acquire all through the year. They will be allocated to almost 7 to 8 hospitals across the country with varied treatment specialties, which makes the student graduate as a versatile Naturopath.
